Birch Trees
Birch trees seem to be a favorite subject of painters and photographers. I think the birch bark canoe is probably what comes to m ing first for more people. This is a favorite subject I remember from grade school. At the time I didn't think about it much, but in retrospect it seems like the user of such a boat had better be a good seimmer, because they must have been extremely fragile. I suppose people were smaller and skinnier in those days and barefoot too, but still birch bark doesn't have much strength.
We are building a network of tree related sites, a list of which is available at our Tree Guide site. Rather than listing all the specific tree information, which is available from many sources, we are focusing on how the tree has been used for products, especially fok art related theings, with Ebay as an easy place to see the entire range of products.
We were surprised to find that a seach for Birch Trees brings up mostly auctions for paintings and other works of art. This is quite different that many of the other trees we have looked at.
